What to watch for
- Wedding venues here book twelve to eighteen months out for spring and autumn Saturdays. There is no late availability.
- Hurricane season runs June to November. Book refundable and insure against named storms.
- Parking in the historic district is genuinely difficult and expensive. Stay where you can walk, or budget for valet.
- Ask directly how a plantation site presents its history before you book it. The good ones are honest; some are not, and a family can be blindsided.
