What to watch for
- No passport is needed for US citizens, but bring government photo ID. Some airlines still ask.
- The bioluminescent bay is brightest on a moonless night. Check the moon phase before locking dates, or you will pay for a dark boat ride.
- The power grid is still recovering from Hurricane Maria and outages happen. Confirm your accommodation has a generator.
- Rural roads are narrow, unlit and steep. Drive them in daylight.
