Miami & the Florida Keys

Latin America’s northern capital, with a hundred and thirteen miles of road to the end of the country.

Miami is not one city — South Beach, Wynwood, Little Havana, Coral Gables and Design District are five different trips. It is a genuinely bilingual, Caribbean and Latin American city and that is the reason to come. Then US-1 runs out through the Keys: Key Largo for diving, Islamorada for fishing, Marathon for the turtles, and Key West at the end, which is its own strange and wonderful country. For a Florida family this is a drive.

What a week actually costs

Indicative shapes, not quotes — an advisor verifies real prices for your exact dates before anything is offered.

Under $1,500 for the weekend

Two people in a boutique hotel off the beach in summer rate, Cuban food in Little Havana, the Wynwood walls, a day in the Everglades.

$7,000–18,000

A family in a beachfront condo or a Keys house, a boat day, snorkelling the reef, a fishing charter, and the drive to Key West with stops.

$55,000+

A waterfront estate or hotel buyout for an event, a chartered yacht, a beach ceremony with full production, and guests hosted.

What to watch for

  • The Overseas Highway is a single road. An accident can close it for hours with no detour. Never plan a tight connection out of Key West.
  • Hurricane season is real and the Keys evacuate. Refundable bookings and named-storm insurance, always.
  • South Beach in March is spring break. If that is not the trip you want, choose different dates or a different neighbourhood.
  • The reef is protected. Touching coral and reef-harming sunscreen are both prohibited in places — a good operator briefs you before you get in.
