Tuscany is the most requested wedding and villa region in Europe, and it earns it. An hour from Florence you can rent a whole stone estate with its own vineyard, cook in its kitchen, and put sixty people around one table under the cypresses. It is also where budgets slip, because the estate is only the beginning — catering, floral, lighting, and a marquee if the weather turns all land on top of it.

A restored farmhouse for six to eight in the Val d’Orcia or Chianti, shoulder season, one hire car, cooking most nights. Genuinely lovely and genuinely affordable.

A larger villa with a pool and a caretaker, a private chef two or three evenings, a vineyard day, transfers handled.
$80,000+
An estate buyout for a wedding week — welcome dinner, ceremony, reception, production, transport for guests staying in town.
What to watch for
- A legal Italian marriage needs documents, translations and an apostille, and the timeline is months, not weeks. Most couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here.
- Many estates have a noise curfew. Ask the hour before you book the band.
- Roads are narrow and unlit. Guest transport is not an upsell, it is a safety plan.
- Air conditioning is not universal in historic houses. In July it matters.
